The Paphos region: There are a variety of churches in and around Paphos,
including Catholic and Anglican. The local people speak English and are very
friendly, and everyone drives on the left. There is a very reliable bus service
to the above places if you do not want to drive. Paphos enjoys 340 days of
sunshine a year. During the 6 months of summer, the sun shines for over 11.5
hours of the day. Average temperature in January/February does not drop below
16C. Paphos is known as the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess
of Love. The entire district is scattered with countless places of historical
and legendary interest (as mentioned above). The island history dates back to
the Neolithic age.
